Ours is a Block having multi-racial, multilingual diversified socio-economic structure since the inception of its history of inhabitation. The Block administrative jurisdiction comprises of ten numbers of gram-panchayets named (Barasat, Khisma, Kalinarayanpur Paharpur,Ramnagar_I,Ramnagar-II,Habibpur,Tarapur, Nawpara Masunda, Anulia, Payradanga). In accordance with electoral segmentation the very jurisdiction that is 13 Ranaghat parliamentary Constituency consists of 87 Ranaghat Uttar-Paschim Assembly constituency (Polling Station No: 73 to 284) and 90 Ranaghat Dakshin Assembly Constituency (Polling Station No: 01 to 104).
